View Full Version : Delete Directory
Hi Kari, I was wondering if you or Larry could go in and delete a directory in my account. I can't get into the folder to delete the files in order to be able to delete the folder. I keep getting an "illegal character" error when I try to get into the folder, and I think it is because there is a space in the folder name.

directory: "Will Ani"

I've never heard of that happening before. If you can get in the directory you can just delete the file there.
You need to delete or move everything in the folder before you can delete the directory.

Mitch, I can view the directory fine from its URL. I cannot get into it from INSIDE the file manager. I cannot rename the directory, I cannot enter the directory, I cannot delete it, and I cannot get into the directory to delete the files. I only get the error message.

No problem, Naji .. that happens sometimes, especially when you're working with zip files. PC users can have spaces in the file names they keep on their computer, and they don't realize that those spaces cause problems for end users who store the files somewhere other than on a PC.
I've forwarded the information to Larry, and he will take care of it for you today. Do you want it deleted, or simply renamed so you can access the files inside?
In the future, just e-mail me directly at the Help Zone, and we'll get it taken care of for you. OK?
Have a good one!
Kari
Thanks Kari, I just want it deleted :) Yeah, I had uploaded a zipped folder from my pc and unzipped it in the file manager. I am so used to leaving spaces on the pc, I had totally forgotten to take it out for uploading to my site.
